At Peartree Marina on the Grand Union Canal. Today is back to normal autumn weather, had to wear a jacket as the temperature is way lower than it has been for the last nine days. Started out at 09:00 and was at Fenny Stratford for 10:00. The lock there is another one with only a foot difference but this one was put in to split the ‘pound’. There was a fishing competition going on so a careful cruise so as not to disturb the fish. At Stoke Hammond the sun finally won over the clouds but the wind has built up making steering interesting. I joined up to share locks with ‘nb PIPERELLA’ which was being taken South by it’s new owners. When we got to Linslade I moored up as I’m only going to do 14 “lock-miles” a day, that is adding the locks and the miles together. They are hoping to get to Uxbridge by Sunday which is when their ‘holiday’ so they are doing 12 hour days, fortunately there was another boat behind which went with them in my place.
