Slapton Lock

Grand Union Canal – Thursday 03 October 2013
Left at 08:00 and continued past Milton Keynes with no other moving boats seen.  At Fenny Bridge there was one on the water point and one approaching so some are out.  Then on to Stoke Hammond where a Wyvern Hire boat arrived just as I was about to leave the lock so I waited for them at the ‘Soulbury Three’ and we then went together to Leighton Buzzard where I stopped to shop.  I passed them again just before the Grove lock where they’d turned and were in the pub (as boaters do).  It was a crew of Norwegians who regularly holiday on the canals, hiring from different companies.  I then continued for a couple of locks to here.

The day started sunny but it rained intermittently throughout the day but no heavy downpours.  The sun came back late afternoon.
