Etruria

Wednesday 17 September 2014 – Etruria, Trent & Mersey Canal

Started at 07:30 in beautiful sunshine and had an un-interrupted run down to Red Bull Aqueduct where I prepared the boat for the tunnel – putting all the lights on, rolling up the cratch cover and so on.  I have bought a new magnetic based, remote controlled spot light to use in addition to my ‘builder’s light’ which worked wonderfully, my first run through Harecastle where I didn’t hit the walls.  After the tunnel I continued on to Etruria (21 lock-miles) ready to face the Stoke locks tomorrow.  On today’s run I have passed Maple (Braidbar No 74), Nimue (No 116) and Maid of the Locks (No 147).  There have been a few cloud patches but basically a lovely sunny day.
