Bulbourne, Grand Union Canal – Thursday 08 August 2013
Start
out at 08:00 in beautiful sunshine and quietly passed Berkhamstead’s moored
boats (although there were boat-length gaps).
I met only a couple of boats and the locks have to be left empty so were
in my favour. At the Tring summit there
were a couple of high speed jet planes zooming around, they were doing
acrobatics and I suppose could easily be high quality models as their colouring
was white and fluorescent orange. The greenery
along this stretch is badly in need of cutting back, in places there is no
passing room. Of course boats approach
just as you reach these narrow bits. I
moored at Bulbourne to discover that I have lost a roof hook and a side fender
(oh bother).
